Khaukha Emmanuel has been sworn in as the eighth Guild President of Victoria University. He is a third-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Pharmacy.

His swearing-in marked the end of the seventh Guild Government, a tenure characterized by dedication and leadership.

The ceremony was attended by Pastor Wilson Bugembe, senior pastor at the Worship House in Nansana, and Prof. Augustine Osamor Ifelebuegu, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, among other distinguished guests.

“I’m pleased to welcome you all to this important occasion in the life of this university, especially regarding leadership and governance. We are here to witness a smooth transfer of power from one team of leaders to another,” Prof. Ifelebuegu remarked.

Student leaders serve as a crucial bridge between the student body and university management, ensuring that diverse student needs are met. The outgoing leadership emphasized that the role of the new leaders extends beyond organizing events and maintaining traditions—it is about being the voice of their peers, addressing their concerns, and shaping their academic and social experiences at Victoria University.

“If I were to give you just one piece of advice, leadership is about service. It’s about the people, not the titles,” Pastor Bugembe advised.

Khaukha, in his inaugural speech, called for student involvement, emphasizing collective responsibility.

“This agenda cannot be achieved alone. I urge students to volunteer in our outreach programs, speak up wherever you are, and hold me accountable in everything I do,” he said.
