Over the weekend, dancer, guitarist, and Movit brand ambassador Gloria Mulungi Senyonjo, popularly known as Baby Gloria, welcomed her fiancé, Mbaleka Jonas, to her parents’ home in a traditional marital ceremony known as Kukyala.
The couple got engaged in March, and preparations for the ceremony had been underway for several weeks. Her mother, Betty Nakibuuka, had hinted at the upcoming event during an interview.
“I promise Mummy and Daddy that we will continue bringing items home paka last. I thank God who enabled them to organize such a beautiful Kukyala function,” Baby Gloria said. “I thank my Mummy a lot; she has been very hands-on. She worked so hard that she even fell sick from all the running up and down.”
Baby Gloria also revealed that the follow-up functions, including the Kwanjula (traditional introduction ceremony) and the wedding, are planned for the coming months.
