The global beverage giant is now spreading happiness one bottle at a time, giving out free Coca-Cola sodas in a spirited effort to connect with Ugandans on a deeply personal level.

Earlier today, excitement filled the air at Kisenyi Bus Terminal as Coca-Cola teams arrived to hand out free sodas to delighted travelers and commuters. Laughter and cheer echoed through the Bus terminal, as locals gathered to share in the unexpected joy.

Several commuters were seen eagerly swapping bottles, hoping to find one bearing their own name. To their delight, many succeeded—while others were just as happy to sip a soda featuring the names of their siblings or loved ones, cherishing the personal connection it created.

“I’m so happy that Coca-Cola came to us and gave out free sodas, it’s something we have never experienced before,” said Ainebyona Pretty, beaming with gratitude. “We hope other companies will follow their lead and come closer to the people.”

But it wasn’t just the refreshment that caught people’s attention it was the personal touch. As part of the campaign, Coca-Cola is releasing bottles proudly labeled with Ugandan names, making every sip feel more special.

Abdnuru Kajibwami, a supervisor at Sky Coaches, shared how meaningful this gesture is. “Seeing international stars like Messi endorse Coca-Cola is exciting, but what touches us most is seeing our own names on the bottles. It brings the brand home, it feels like it’s about us.”

He continued, “This is something Coca-Cola should have done long ago. When we see our names, we feel seen and that emotional connection will definitely boost their sales.”

Kutesa John who was boarding to his ancestral home in Kashari-Mbarara City revealed his holiday plans, now infused with a Coca-Cola twist. “I’m going to search for bottles with my mother’s name and my siblings’ names. I’ll take them home this Christmas. My family will be overjoyed to see their names on these bottles, it’s such a thoughtful and simple way to spread happiness.”

With its renewed focus on personalization and emotional connection, Coca-Cola’s Share a Coke campaign is doing more than refreshing, it’s inspiring smiles, starting conversations, and bringing people together in beautiful, unexpected ways.
