The Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services (UIBFS) has officially unveiled its new brand identity during a momentous celebration that coincided with the 12th Annual Graduation Ceremony held at Mestil Hotel in Kampala.

The dual occasion marked a significant milestone for the Institute, symbolizing both its continued growth and a bold step toward redefining its role as the premier training hub for banking and financial services in Uganda and the wider region.

Speaking at the launch, UIBFS Chief Executive Officer, Goretti Masadde, emphasized the deeper meaning behind the rebrand, stating that it reflects the Institute’s renewed vision, enhanced digital offerings, and unwavering commitment to empowering professionals to learn, transform, and lead in an ever-evolving financial ecosystem.

“This rebrand is more than just a new logo or look — it’s a statement of intent. We are stepping into a future where UIBFS is not only the custodian of industry knowledge but also a driver of innovation, sustainability, research, and consultancy,” Masadde said.

Michael Mugabi, Chairperson of the UIBFS Board and Managing Director of Housing Finance Bank, echoed her sentiments. He described the transformation as a reflection of the Institute’s resilience and ongoing relevance in a rapidly changing financial landscape.

“This new identity mirrors the growth and evolution we have achieved over the years. It is a rallying call for all stakeholders to embrace the future of banking and finance with renewed purpose,”  Mugabi noted.

The graduation ceremony celebrated the achievements of 358 graduates from various professional programs in banking and financial services, including both academic and short certificate courses. This year’s cohort marks a 23% increase in student intake, reflecting the Institute’s growing impact and commitment to advancing professionalism and financial inclusion across the sector.

Dr. Fabian Kasi, Council President of UIBFS and Managing Director of Centenary Bank, presided over the graduation and praised the Institute for its progress:

“I am very proud to witness the fresh look and feel of our Institute — a rebrand that reminds us that we must always grow and change. The new tagline, Learn. Transform. Lead., speaks directly to the journey we ask each of you to take — to continue learning, to embrace change, and to step up as leaders.”

Bank of Uganda Governor and Patron of UIBFS, Michael Atingi-Ego, served as Guest of Honour. He commended the Institute for its leadership in promoting financial literacy and inclusion, and for its forward-thinking approach.

“As Patron, I have seen the Institute continue to position itself as a beacon of excellence in banking and finance education — and this fills me with pride. Graduands, as you step into the next phase of your journey, I urge you to embrace the spirit of transformation. The industry you are entering is always evolving — shaped by technology, data, sustainability concerns, and new consumer expectations. Your task is to lead that evolution with integrity, creativity, and courage.”

The official brand reveal signals a new chapter for UIBFS as it aims to strengthen its role as a centre of excellence through innovation, expanded partnerships across the financial sector and beyond, and a deepened focus on ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles.
