Jetour Group, has entered the Ugandan market with the launch of two dynamic SUV models, the Jetour DASHING and Jetour X70 Plus.

The brand’s local debut is in partnership with Al Mamoun East Africa, a company renowned for its strategic investments across Sudan, South Sudan, the UAE, and other markets. Al Mamoun has been appointed the exclusive distributor of Jetour vehicles in Uganda, with a fully-fledged showroom and aftersales service center now operational in Namanve.

Held at Serena Hotel Kampala, the company also announced plans to expand its offering by introducing the Jetour T2 another highly anticipated SUV by the end of 2025.

Moses Kaggwa, Acting Director at the Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development, welcomed Jetour’s entry as a strategic contribution to Uganda’s industrial and economic growth.

“I thank you for investing in our economy and creating employment for many Ugandans. We pledge to support you,” said Kaggwa during the launch.

Founded in 2018 under the Chery Holding Group, Jetour has quickly gained global recognition for producing a wide range of SUVs that blend modern design, cutting-edge features, comfort, and affordability. The brand positions itself as a provider of “good life cars”, appealing to today’s consumer demands for performance, style, and practicality.

Zein Abdelmutaal, Chief Operating Officer of Al Mamoun East Africa, encouraged Ugandans to embrace new car ownership, noting that Jetour’s range is built to meet local preferences.

“We are fully committed to investing in aftersales support, availing spare parts, and building solid service channels so that maintaining a Jetour in Uganda is easy,” he assured.

He said DASHING and X70 Plus combine what Ugandan drivers value most style, performance, safety, and reliability at a highly competitive price point.

Richard Bamujje, Jetour Uganda’s Sales Manager, described the two new models as powerful, all-terrain vehicles designed for Ugandan roads.

“Uganda’s automotive sector has for years lacked variety and dependable solutions. With Jetour, we are filling that gap. From individuals seeking premium SUVs to fleet managers aiming to reduce operational costs, we are offering vehicles that combine quality, efficiency, and value,” Bamujje explained.

The Jetour DASHING, a bold and compact SUV, and the larger, more feature-rich X70 Plus, bring a fresh alternative to Uganda’s mid-to-premium SUV market segment. Both vehicles showcase Jetour’s hallmark qualities: modern styling, strong performance, and driver-centric features.

With the Jetour T2 expected to join the lineup later this year, the brand is positioning itself to serve a wide range of consumers from everyday drivers to corporate fleets.

Chinese automotive brands continue to gain traction worldwide. In fact, during the first half of 2025, Chinese carmakers doubled their market share in Europe, reaching 5.1%, a sign of growing confidence in their quality and innovation.

With Jetour’s arrival in Uganda, that momentum is set to continue offering consumers affordable performance, style, and a reliable ownership experience, all backed by local support and investment.
