The Uganda Police Force is mourning the loss of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Kataratambi Charles, who passed away earlier today, 2 October 2025.
A statement released by the police confirmed the passing of AIGP Kataratambi, who was serving as the Director of Human Rights and Legal Services.
“The Uganda Police Force fraternity deeply regrets to announce the untimely passing of AIGP Kataratambi Charles,” the statement read.
Details regarding burial arrangements will be communicated in due course.
“The UPF conveys its heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of the late officer.
May his soul rest in eternal peace,” the police said.
