Buganda Road Magistrates Court has charged Kalungu East MP-elect Yusuf Kiruuta Nkeretanyi with theft of curtains valued at Shs3.7 billion.
Nkeretanyi appeared before Chief Magistrate Ritah Kidasa Neumbe alongside six other accused persons, all of whom were charged with theft.
Prosecution alleges that between 2018 and January 2022, at Eagle Plaza in Kampala’s Central Division, Nkeretanyi and his co-accused stole curtains, cushions, and curtain holders worth Shs3.7 billion from businessman Hajj Sulaiman Lwabuuka Kasule.
During the proceedings, the allegedly stolen items were presented in court as exhibits. The accused were later released on bail.
