As part of its ongoing commitment to environmental conservation, AAR Insurance Uganda has planted 1,000 trees in Zirobwe Kyambogo Village. This initiative is a key component of the company’s broader mission to restore ecosystems and combat the effects of climate change.
The campaign was launched by the Managing Director, Christine Nassuna, who described the initiative as a powerful affirmation of the company’s dedication to purposeful action, community engagement, and environmental responsibility.
“This transformative campaign reflects our shared ambition to embed Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our daily operations—moving sustainability beyond rhetoric into meaningful action,” Nassuna stated.
A cornerstone of the initiative is the One Tree for Life program, which underscores AAR Insurance Uganda’s commitment to environmental stewardship by actively working to reduce its carbon footprint.
“This effort not only aligns with our ESG strategy but also supports our broader commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as proud members of the UN Global Compact,” Nassuna added. “This marks the beginning of our pledge: for every life we insure, we’ll plant a tree. It’s our way of promoting a sustainable future while supporting Agenda 2030. As a responsible business, we believe in action over words and invite like-minded organizations to make sustainability central to their missions.”
In celebration of its 40th anniversary, AAR Insurance has also launched a nationwide initiative to plant 40,000 trees. This initiative is part of the larger A Tree a Life program, which began in Nairobi and extends to all AAR Insurance branches across the country, further emphasizing the company’s steadfast commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility.
