Valentine’s Day isn’t just about flowers anymore at least, not when Don Julio and Mediterraneo are rewriting the script. In Kampala, lovers of fine experiences were treated to an extraordinary Cupid’s Day dinner, filled with opera notes, Latin dance rhythms, and premium tequila.

In collaboration with Mediterraneo, Don Julio presented the Love Is In The Air dinner, a refined, unconventional celebration for those looking to go beyond the usual flowers and candle-lit two-seater dinners.

The evening unfolded as a sophisticated blend of fine dining and live performance. Guests were serenaded by a stellar lineup, including Turgut Armete, Zeynep Gunal, and Ugandan Latin dance sensation Valentino Kabenge, merging the elegance of European classical artistry with the energy of Latin rhythms.

Diners described the experience as both intimate and grand. The operatic showcases by Zeynep and Turgut left guests swaying gently, completely absorbed in the storytelling power of their performances.

Yet, the show-stealer was Valentino’s Latin dance performance. From Salsa and Bachata to Mambo, Cumbia, and Zouk, his routines had the audience mesmerized some even unable to resist joining in. By the end, couples were stepping onto the dance floor, transforming the dinner into a lively, interactive celebration of love and rhythm.

The evening was perfectly complemented by expertly crafted cocktails and bottle service featuring Don Julio 1942, Añejo, and Reposado, reinforcing the brand’s image as a curator of premium lifestyle experiences.

“Don Julio is the perfect tequila for celebrations. We’re here to celebrate love, and I’m thrilled we could deliver a unique, premium romantic experience like no other in Kampala,” said Judie Nandekya, Senior Brand Manager, Tequila and Rum East Africa.

As the night drew to a close, couples took to the floor for tango and waltz, pausing to admire the city skyline. The evening redefined Valentine’s Day in the capital, a celebration of love, music, dance, and unforgettable experiences.
