Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Clive Nsiima, who was captured on CCTV slapping a supermarket attendant at a Shell fuel station in Kyanja, Kampala, is set to face criminal charges.

The officer will formally be charged before the City Hall Court in Kampala.

According to Rusoke Kituuma, the police spokesperson, police took several actions as soon as they received information that ASP Clive Nsiima had assaulted a female shop attendant in Kyanja.

“We arrested Clive, detained him in our police cells, and subjected him to disciplinary action,” he said.

On October 7, 2025, a video circulated on social media depicting a male client assaulting a female attendant at a Shell petrol station.

Our preliminary investigations point to ASP Nsiima, a police officer, as the suspect. The officer was apprehended and detained in police custody.

Rusoke said Nsiima would be brought to account as soon as investigations are complete.

“We have got in touch with the victim and witnesses. We condemn this behaviour as it contravenes our disciplinary code,” he said.
