Entebbe International Airport recorded 213,217 international passengers in June, according to the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), Daily Star has learned.
The passenger traffic included 106,583 arrivals and 106,634 departures—an average of 7,107 passengers per day. This marks the second-highest monthly average, following December 2024, which saw a daily average of 7,171 passengers.
In comparison, the airport handled 198,052 international passengers in May 2025, comprising 97,568 arrivals and 100,484 departures, according to CAA data.
The rise in passenger numbers has been attributed to several factors, including the return of Hijja pilgrims, increased tourism promotion, business travel, and a series of international conferences.
In terms of cargo, Entebbe International Airport processed a total of 6,293 metric tonnes in June. This included 4,332 metric tonnes of exports and 1,961 metric tonnes of imports.
