Twiine Charles, the former CID spokesperson who was later assigned to the Parliamentary Police Investigations Section, has reportedly gone missing, the Daily Star has learned.

According to The Observer, Twiine was last seen on Wednesday afternoon as he left the police headquarters in Naguru, where he had an appointment with the Inspector General of Police (IGP) at 7:00 a.m.

His family reports that Twiine’s car remains parked at the Naguru police headquarters, but there is no clear information about his whereabouts or the circumstances of his disappearance.

On Monday, Twiine had traveled with a parliamentary committee to Mbarara. However, he cut the trip short after being summoned to meet the IGP on Wednesday morning. He returned to Kampala from Mbarara on Tuesday night and reportedly held a meeting with both the IGP and his deputy.

Since Wednesday afternoon, his phones have been switched off.

When contacted, Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Patrick Onyango directed all inquiries to Kituma Rusoke, the police spokesperson, who was unavailable for comment.
