President Yoweri Museveni has officially commissioned the newly built All Saints Church, a Shs 3 billion project funded by former Foreign Affairs Minister Sam Kutesa. Kutesa constructed the church in fulfillment of a promise he made after surviving throat cancer.
“I commissioned the newly built All Saints Church. I thank Sam Kutesa for connecting with partners who quickly built the church, and I also pay tribute to the pioneers who preached the gospel and transformed society,” President Museveni said during the launch.
The President also extended his gratitude to Manish and his family, along with their business, Tororo Cement, for their contributions to building churches across Uganda, despite not being Christians.
“Their actions align with Jesus’ teaching that ‘we shall know them by their fruits,’” Museveni noted.
He further emphasized the growing collaboration between the Church and the government, highlighting their shared missions of promoting work, wealth creation, and unity. Museveni encouraged believers to continue preaching the gospel of unity, caring for the hungry, healing the sick, and working diligently.
Sharing his personal testimony, Kutesa said, “I was diagnosed with throat cancer. I spent six months in Germany undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy. By God’s grace, I recovered. After surviving that difficult experience, I made a promise to build a church for God in His honor.”
