The Formidables Swim Club is set to host its first-ever Formidables Swim Gala at Waves Fitness Harbour on Ntinda–Kiwatule Road. This family-friendly, high-energy event is open to all and promises an exciting blend of elite swimming competition and vibrant entertainment.
With over 350 athletes expected from eight Masters swim teams across East Africa, the gala is poised to be the largest Masters swimming event Uganda has ever seen. More than 200 swimmers will compete across over 35 categories, showcasing top-tier swimming talent and thrilling races. The event will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
Festivities will kick off at 1:00 PM and run until 8:30 PM, culminating in an electrifying after-party featuring performances by top DJs, a tropical cocktail bar, and a sizzling BBQ experience. It’s designed to be a perfect outing for families, fitness enthusiasts, and party lovers alike.
“Our club is about perfecting technique, fostering community, and having fun,” said Peter Ssebanakitta, Captain of Formidables Swim Club. “This event is not just a competition—it’s a celebration of fitness, family, and friendship. Whether you swim, cheer, or simply come to enjoy the atmosphere, there’s a place for you.”

Founded in 2018 at Nob View Hotel by a passionate group of swimmers, the Formidables Swim Club has grown into a vibrant, award-winning organization affiliated with Uganda Aquatics.
