Police in Nansana have scored a significant breakthrough in investigations into a wave of robberies targeting bank clients across the area.

Four suspects were arrested in coordinated operations conducted between March 10 and March 14, 2026, in connection with the attacks. Authorities say the group had been systematically trailing customers from banking halls before ambushing them and robbing them of cash and other valuables.

During interrogation, the suspects reportedly confessed to involvement in several robberies, particularly around Base Hotel and other busy banking points within Nansana.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects executed the attacks while armed with pangas and used boda bodas to swiftly escape from the crime scenes, making it difficult for victims to raise alarm in time.

Police say efforts are ongoing to dismantle the wider criminal network and apprehend additional suspects believed to be on the run.

Members of the public, especially bank clients, have been urged to remain vigilant. Police advise individuals handling large sums of money to seek security escorts or use safer alternatives to reduce the risk of attack.
