The Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has confirmed the recovery of the missing Primary Leaving Examination (PLE) Integrated Science scripts for learners of Bamure Primary School in Koboko District.

Earlier, UNEB had reported that the scripts of 34 candidates were missing. In the meantime, the affected learners were temporarily awarded an “X” pending a thorough investigation at the Board’s marking centres.

According to Jennifer Kalule-Musamba, Principal Public Relations Officer at UNEB, the investigation led to the discovery of a sealed envelope containing the scripts. The envelope was found intact in a lockable box for UNEB materials in the office of the school’s headmaster.

“For avoidance of doubt, the envelope was first handed over to Koboko Central Police Station, which confirmed it had not been tampered with. The scripts have now been returned to UNEB for marking,” she said.

UNEB has reassured parents, candidates, and all stakeholders that the scripts will be marked promptly, and the learners will be graded in time for the national selection and placement exercise.
