Love was in full bloom at the gardens of the Sheraton Kampala Hotel as music lovers gathered to celebrate Valentine’s Day at a star-studded concert headlined by Geosteady Blackman and powered by V&A, Uganda’s favourite sherry.

Chants of “Sembera Maama… Yanguwa Lola…” filled the air as couples and fans joined global Cupid’s Day celebrations, with Geosteady’s signature love ballads setting the mood for what many described as the biggest Valentine’s concert on the local entertainment calendar.

By 5 p.m., the venue was already buzzing with excitement. Couples strolled hand-in-hand, capturing memories at the V&A photobooth while securing front-row spots for performances by Juliana Kanyomozi, Mariam Ndagire, Irene Ntale, Lydia Jasmine, Fefe Busi, and more.

Throughout the evening, V&A enhanced the experience with servings of its sherry liqueur—both neat and in the popular Vangria blend—perfectly complementing the night’s romantic melodies.

“Valentine’s Day is a celebration of the love we share,” said Rochart Kaweesa, Brand Manager for V&A. “Partnering with Geosteady, whose music is synonymous with intimate moments, allowed us to give our consumers a unique Cupid’s Day experience. Today, we celebrated love in moments that are special to them.”

When Geosteady finally took the stage, the crowd erupted, singing along to hits like Sembera, Same Way, Soulmate, and Nze Naawe.

One of the night’s most memorable moments came when a man proposed to his partner on stage, prompting cheers and ululations from the audience. The proposal was celebrated with a V&A bouquet and a prize trip, all captured by content creators as the crowd watched in awe.

As the night drew to a close, revellers left visibly exhilarated but satisfied, having celebrated love, created new memories, and rekindled friendships—many likely to spend the next day humming Geosteady’s romantic ballads.
