Christians have been urged to embrace hope in Christ and draw strength from the mystery of His birth. This was the central message from Archbishop Stephen Kazimba Mugalu during the first Christmas service held at the newly inaugurated All Saints Cathedral in Nakasero, Uganda.
In his sermon, Archbishop Kazimba addressed the rising trend of DNA testing for paternity verification, warning of its potential emotional harm to both fathers and children. He called on Christians to learn from Joseph, who raised Jesus with unconditional love, demonstrating acceptance and care despite the circumstances.
“Hope is the victory God has given us until His promises are fulfilled,” the Archbishop said, urging believers not to let life’s challenges shake their faith.
He also voiced concern over the hesitancy of some Christians to care for orphans, contrasting this with proactive efforts by individuals of other faiths.
Archbishop Kazimba challenged the congregation to take responsibility for supporting vulnerable children, underscoring the Christian call to compassion and community.
The Christmas service was particularly significant as it marked the first to be held in the newly completed All Saints Cathedral. Inaugurated in November, the cathedral symbolizes a fresh chapter for the church’s mission and its role in fostering hope and love among believers.
