Absa Bank Uganda has appointed Kampala Capital City Authority’s (KCCA) Executive Director, Sharifah Buzeki, as the Chief Runner for the 2025 Absa KH3 7 Hills Run. Buzeki’s participation highlights the significance of public-private partnerships in driving meaningful social change.
While receiving her running kit from the Absa team, Buzeki emphasized the importance of the initiative:
“Joining the Absa KH3 7 Hills Run as Chief Runner is more than a personal challenge—it’s a stand for every girl who deserves an education. I’m proud to lead this effort alongside Absa and our partners on March 16.”
The KH3 7 Hills Run aligns with Absa Uganda’s commitment to empowering Africa’s future. Proceeds from the event will support initiatives aimed at breaking down barriers to girls’ education.
“It is an honor to have Ms. Sharifah Buzeki as our Chief Runner,” said David Wandera, Interim Managing Director at Absa Uganda. “Her leadership and dedication to improving Kampala make her an inspiring figure for our participants. We are excited to have her support for girls’ education.”
The announcement was accompanied by the release of the official route map for the run, scheduled for March 16, 2025. The marathon will start at Millennium Grounds, Lugogo (formerly KCCA Grounds) and feature three race categories: 21km, 10km, and 5km CEO Fun Run distances.
Official Route Details
5km Route:
Starting from Millennium Grounds, the route will cover Naguru Road, Estate Road, Katalima Road, Katalima Crescent, Lower Naguru Estate Road, Naguru Vale Road, Naguru Drive, Nyonyintono Road, Katale Road, Naggulu Avenue, and return to Millennium Grounds.
10km Route:
This race will go through Naguru Estate Road, Katalima Road, Ntinda II Road, Ntinda Road, Semawata Road, Bukoto-Ntinda Road, Kimera Road, Mvule Lane, Upper Naguru Road, Ntinda View Crescent, Lower Naguru Road, Vaguru Vale Road, Naguru Drive, Katale Road, Naggulu Avenue, Shoprite Road, and back to the starting point.
21km Route:
The longest race will traverse Naguru Road, Roscoe Road, Impala Avenue, Upper Kololo Terrace, Elgon Terrace, Acacia Avenue, Kafu Road, Akii Bua Road, Nakasero Hill Road, Kyagwe Road, Rashid Khamis Road, Ginnery Road, Old Kampala Road, Namirembe Road, Willis Road, Centenary Road, Cathedral Hill Road, Albert Cook Road, Mutesa I Road, Lubiri Ring Road, Mengo Hill Road, Nsambya Road, Nsambya Estate Road, Tank Hill Road, Kikuba Mutwe, Kibuli Road, Press House Road, Mukwano Road, Access Road, Jinja Road, Wampewo Avenue, Roscoe Road, Lugogo Bypass, Rotary Avenue, and back to Millennium Grounds.
Strategic Water Points
To ensure runners stay hydrated, water points have been strategically placed along the routes:
5km route: Starting point, Naguru E Road, and Naguru Drive.
10km route: Starting point, Katalima Road (Naguru), near Kembabazi, Mvule Lane, and Naguru Drive.
21km route: Starting point, Nakasero Hill Road, Ginnery Road, Willis Road, Mutesa I Road, Lubiri Ring Road, and Nsambya Road.
