Tragedy struck on the Entebbe Express Highway as Masaka City business man Bosco Sennyonjo, popularly known as Bosco Bitanda, and two of his children lost their lives in a devastating car accident.
The crash involved a Toyota Land Cruiser, registration number UBG 734S, driven by Ssenyonjo Bosco, a businessman and resident of Masaka.
According to police, Bosco was traveling with his family towards Entebbe when he reportedly lost control of the vehicle due to speeding.
“The vehicle first struck the basement of a streetlight pole, then hit a road pillar before overturning several times. Three occupants, including the driver, died instantly at the scene, while two others sustained serious injuries,” Police said.
Traffic Police responded promptly, rescuing the injured and taking them to a Grade B Hospital for first aid before they were referred to another medical facility for further treatment.
“The deceased were transported to City Mortuary for postmortem examinations as investigations into the cause of the crash continue,” Police further said.
Authorities are urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to speed limits to prevent such fatal accidents.
