President Yoweri Museveni, accompanied by the First Lady and Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Museveni, has arrived at the NRM Electoral Commission Headquarters, where hundreds of party supporters gathered to witness him pick up nomination forms for the positions of NRM National Chairman and Presidential Flag Bearer.

Upon arrival, the President was received by Vice President Maj. (Rtd) Jessica Alupo; the Party’s First National Vice Chairperson, Al-Hajji Moses Kigongo; Second National Vice Chairperson, Rebecca Kadaga; Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among; and NRM Secretary General, Richard Todwong.

“I expressed my interest in running for both the position of Presidential Flag Bearer and NRM Party National Chairman by picking up nomination forms at the NRM Headquarters in Kyadondo,” President Museveni stated.

Since assuming leadership in 1986, Uganda has progressed through five stages of development. Looking ahead, the NRM envisions transforming the country into a $500 billion economy within the next five years.

President Museveni also urged the newly elected NRM district chairpersons to remain impartial and avoid corruption. He further encouraged party members to prioritize leaders who truly understand and uphold the party’s ideology and principles, rather than those motivated by personal ambition.
