In the quiet hours before dawn, a well-orchestrated heist struck the FINCA Bank branch in Nakasongola, leaving behind more questions than answers and a vault lighter by over Shs 192 million.

According to Sam Twiineamazima, spokesperson for the Savannah Regional Police, the thieves executed the robbery with chilling precision, escaping with Shs 192,587,800, two laptops, and several unidentified items.

The break-in wasn’t discovered until 7:00 AM, when the branch manager, Kamurasi Fred, arrived to begin the day and walked straight into the aftermath of the crime.

What’s raising eyebrows is the fact that the bank was under round-the-clock protection by SGA Security, with two guards on duty—one for the day, another for the night. Yet somehow, the robbers bypassed this security detail without setting off any alarms or drawing attention.

How did they get in? Where were the guards? Were they overpowered—or complicit?

Police have arrested four suspects in connection with the robbery, but details remain scarce. Investigators are pursuing every lead, but the heist appears to be the work of a calculated and possibly well-connected crew.

The streets of Nakasongola are buzzing with speculation, as the community watches and waits for answers. For now, the money is gone—and so are the people who took it.
