Mugarura Isaiah Ndebwoha has been declared the winner of the Victoria University students’ guild elections for the 2025–2026 academic year.

The 9th Guild President-Elect of Victoria University secured 2,980 votes, accounting for 50.8% of the 5,866 total votes cast.

According to Atayo Habib, the chairperson of Electoral Commission, Victoria University nominated three candidates to contest for the highest student office through the Victoria University Electoral Commission. Voting was conducted online over two days using the University’s advanced voting system, VCLASS, starting on 17th February 2025 and concluding on 18th February 2025.

According to the official results, Mugarura Isaiah Ndebwoha garnered 2,980 votes (50.8%), emerging as the winner of the election. Mujungu Marvin Kahuma came second with 2,298 votes (39.2%), while Luweru Ben Kazigo obtained 588 votes (10%), ranking third.

In the Guild Representative Council (GRC) elections across various faculties, results were as follows: In the Faculty of Health Sciences (Female GRC), Nakawooya Kevin Hall won with 1,058 votes (51.9%), narrowly defeating Ahurira Cephas, who secured 981 votes (48.1%). A total of 2,039 votes were cast in this category, with a voter turnout of 63.19%.

In the Faculty of Business and Management (Male GRC), Abdul Malik Muhamood emerged victorious with 773 votes (70.7%), defeating Makanga Alvin Lawrence, who received 321 votes (29.3%) out of 1,094 votes cast.

Several other candidates were elected unopposed in their respective constituencies, including representatives from the Faculties of Science and Technology, Humanities and Social Sciences, International Students, Weekend/Evening Programs, and the Institute of Education and Lifelong Learning.
