The Electoral Commission (EC) has called on all Ugandans to turn up for the ongoing verification of the national voter register ahead of the May 15, 2025 deadline.

The display exercise, which began on April 25, 2025, is a crucial step toward ensuring transparency, accuracy, and citizen participation as the country gears up for the 2025/2026 General Elections.

According to Julius Mucunguzi, the EC spokesperson, there will be no extension of the verification period.

“The Electoral Commission appeals to all stakeholders in the electoral process to actively participate in the display exercise and adhere to the issued guidelines,” Mucunguzi emphasized.

The voter register verification process is essential, as it determines whether an individual will be eligible to vote on polling day. During this period, citizens are encouraged to: Verify the correct spelling of their names, confirm they are registered in the correct parish and report names of deceased persons or individuals under the age of 18.

To verify your photo and personal details, voters are required to visit their designated display centers in person before the exercise concludes on May 15, 2025.

The Electoral Commission urges all eligible voters to take this opportunity seriously to ensure a free, fair, and credible election process.
