The Secretary General of the National Resistance Movement (NRM), Richard Todwong, has praised the government of China for its generous contributions to Uganda’s growth, development, and the prosperity of its people—particularly through numerous infrastructure projects.
Todwong made the remarks today at the NRM Headquarters on Plot 10, Kyadondo Road, Kampala, while hosting a delegation from the Communist Party of China (CPC). The CPC team, led by Rao Huihua, Director General of the International Department, is in Uganda to explore ways of supporting the NRM in human resource capacity building.
“We discussed a significant number of fraternal interests. We extended our gratitude to the Communist Party of China for consistently standing with the NRM and other African revolutionary parties, particularly in efforts to build their capacities,” Todwong said.
He further noted, “We have shared a great deal, and they have invited me to Beijing for two days to delve deeper into these issues and participate in an international conference of political party leaders from around the world.”
Describing the CPC’s visit as highly productive, Todwong emphasized the NRM’s commitment to continuing dialogue and cooperation in the shared interests of Uganda and China.
