The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) has offered a two-month amnesty for companies that have defaulted on remitting workers’ contributions.
The announcement was made by Gerald Paul Kasaato, the Deputy Executive Director of NSSF. During the amnesty period, which runs from March 10 to May 11, 2026, the Fund aims to collect Shs 30 billion and a total of Shs 164 billion by the end of the year.
During this period, the Fund will waive penalties for employers who submit applications requesting that their penalties be waived.
“About 28,000 employees are set to benefit from this arrangement, while 100,000 employers are being targeted,” he said.
