At least four members of the National Unity Platform’s (NUP) Election Management team have gone missing, Daily Star has learned.
The revelation was made by Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, also known as Bobi Wine, the president of NUP. The missing individuals are Mercy Walukamba, Rovans Alex Lwanyaga, Rahma Juma, and Kayabura Eddie.
According to Bobi Wine, information suggests they were abducted at gunpoint near Lungala, Mpigi, last night while returning from a funeral in Rakai.
“Onlookers say several other comrades were violently abducted and taken away in vehicles commonly known as Toyota Hiaces. A few days ago, Gen. Museveni’s son promised to make NUP weep, and it seems he’s keeping that promise. But we assure him and his father that they are not gods. The people of Uganda will have the final laugh,” Bobi Wine said.
The alleged abduction follows the arbitrary arrest of the party’s head of mobilization, Nyanzi Fred, who was also taken by armed men.
