Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court today declined to read human sacrifice charges against socialite Brian Kirumira, aka Bryan White, on medical grounds. The court ordered that he be returned to the hospital. White faces multiple charges, including manslaughter, possession of narcotic drugs, and others.

A suspected fire accident at the home of flamboyant city socialite Brian Kirumira, known as Bryan White, has spiraled into a full-scale criminal investigation. This has resulted in the arrest of four individuals, including a doctor, a nurse, and White’s wife.

Police confirmed the detention of Dr. Joyce Irene Nambalirwa, the proprietor of Mabirizi Nursing Home, alongside Nakato Naava, Daphine Abaho, and Daisy Nalunga, who is believed to be Brian White’s legally wedded wife.

The arrests follow the suspicious death of 25-year-old Caroline Nalubwama, reportedly Bryan White’s girlfriend. Her death was initially attributed to burns sustained in a household fire, but investigators now believe the circumstances may have been fabricated.

“We have four suspects in custody. Investigations have revealed that the incident occurred on October 22, not October 24, as previously stated, and it was only reported to the police on October 27,” said Luke Owoyesigyire, the Kampala Metropolitan Deputy Police Spokesperson, during a briefing at Naguru Police Headquarters.

Nalubwama was first admitted to Mabirizi Nursing Home, where Dr. Nambalirwa allegedly delayed her referral to Kiruddu Hospital, citing unpaid medical bills. Police sources claim this delay may have contributed to Nalubwama’s death, and that the clinic allegedly confiscated a laptop belonging to one of her caretakers as “collateral.”

Investigators say inconsistencies in the timeline and efforts to handle the situation discreetly have raised further suspicion.

“The delay in seeking proper medical attention and failure to promptly report the incident suggest that the suspects were attempting to conceal key details,” Owoyesigyire added.

Adding to the mystery, police confirmed that Bryan White himself is under hospital guard at a private facility along Interval Road.

“We assign guards to individuals of interest in ongoing investigations,” Owoyesigyire said, fueling speculation about Bryan White’s possible involvement in the incident.

Sources close to the investigation suggest that detectives are looking into whether the fire was accidental or staged and if Nalubwama’s injuries align with the reported circumstances.

The case file has been forwarded to the Resident State Attorney (RSA) for review, who will determine whether formal charges will be filed against the suspects

“Further updates will be provided once the RSA gives guidance,” Owoyesigyire said.
