Prudential Uganda has rolled out a new digital payment option that allows customers to pay life insurance premiums instantly through Airtel Money, marking a step forward in simplifying access to financial protection.

The solution, developed in partnership with NxtPe, enables customers to make seamless payments directly from their mobile money wallets, with instant confirmation to ensure continuous policy coverage. The move eliminates traditional barriers such as travel, paperwork, and delays associated with physical payment methods.

By tapping into widely used mobile money platforms, the initiative aligns insurance payments with everyday financial habits, making it easier for customers to maintain their policies and avoid lapses.

Chief Executive Officer Tetteh Ayitevie said the partnership reflects Prudential Uganda’s broader strategy to make insurance more accessible and user-friendly.

“This partnership integrates premium payments into the way people already transact daily. It reduces missed payments, improves convenience, and strengthens our commitment to delivering simple and inclusive financial solutions,” he said.

The integration is also expected to support agents by easing the payment process during policy sign-ups and renewals. Instant payment confirmation shortens turnaround times and enhances customer confidence in the onboarding process.

NxtPe Chief Executive Officer Neelesh noted that simplifying essential payments is key to expanding financial access, adding that the collaboration brings insurance services closer to customers through secure and efficient digital channels.

Prudential Uganda says the partnership is part of its continued push to leverage digital innovation to enhance customer experience and drive insurance uptake in a market where mobile money remains a dominant payment method.
