Singers Fik Fameica and Vinka lit up the Makerere University Business School (MUBS) Cultural Gala, thrilling students with high-energy performances that perfectly complemented the festivities on campus.

The event was part of Coca-Cola Uganda’s globally cherished ‘Share a Coke’ campaign—now refreshed to resonate with Gen Z’s longing for real, meaningful connections. With this fresh twist, students came together to celebrate their rich cultural heritage.

Held under the theme “Rooted in Tradition, Growing Towards Sustainability,” the gala featured vibrant performances in traditional dance, art, storytelling, and fashion competitions, showcasing Uganda’s cultural diversity.

In an innovative cross-border initiative, students from MUBS in Uganda and Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) in Kenya virtually united for a “Cross-Border Toast”—a shared celebration of friendship, unity, and unforgettable Coca-Cola moments.

This landmark occasion is part of Coca-Cola’s broader East and Central Africa campaign relaunch. The initiative aims to reconnect people in an increasingly digital world by creating tangible, real-life experiences that foster lasting memories

“The ‘Share a Coke’ campaign has always been about creating genuine human connections, and this East African activation takes that concept to a new level,” said Arthur Akankwasah, Coca-Cola Franchise Manager, Uganda.

“By connecting students across borders, we’re not just sharing a refreshing beverage – we’re sharing culture, friendship, and the spirit that unites East Africa.”

The relaunch includes personalized Coca-Cola cans and bottles printed with popular names from Uganda and Kenya, celebrating regional diversity and warmth. Students and fans can also scan QR codes on the packaging to access the “Share a Coke Memory Maker”—a dynamic digital platform for creating personalized video messages, sharing memories, and designing custom name labels.

“At Coca-Cola, we’re always looking for fresh ways to connect with the youth and be a part of their everyday lives,” added Vivienne Olenyo, Frontline Marketing Manager – Coca-Cola East & Central Africa.

“The return of ‘Share a Coke’ celebrates friendship, self-expression, and community—values Gen Z truly embraces.”

Over the next three months, Coca-Cola will activate the campaign across Uganda through interactive experiences at universities, malls, eateries, and social hotspots. Consumers are encouraged to share their #ShareaCokeUG moments on TikTok, Instagram, and X (formerly Twitter), turning everyday interactions into magical memories.

The campaign relaunch is set to roll out in over 120 countries worldwide, as Coca-Cola continues to bridge the digital and physical worlds—making every Coke moment more personal, more joyful, and more unforgettable.
