Treescape Planet Organisation has announced a new partnership with Travad Tours Uganda Ltd, marking a major step toward expanding eco-tourism and promoting sustainable travel across Uganda. The collaboration was unveiled on 23 November 2025 during a community tree-planting activity at Christ the King High School in Bweya.
The partnership blends Treescape Planet’s mission of environmental restoration with Travad Tours’ growing footprint in responsible travel. Under this initiative, each tourist who books a trip with Travad Tours will automatically contribute to conservation efforts through the planting of at least one tree, ensuring that tourism activity directly supports climate-resilient landscapes.
At the launch, students, teachers, community members and representatives from both organisations worked together to plant tree seedlings. These trees will support carbon sequestration, shade creation, biodiversity recovery and environmental learning for students. According to organisers, this event is only the beginning of a series of joint actions to be rolled out nationwide.
Treescape Planet said the alliance represents a shift toward tourism that regenerates rather than depletes Uganda’s natural resources.
“Travel should enrich both people and the planet. Through this partnership, every trip becomes a chance to restore ecosystems and nurture climate-aware communities,” the organisation said.
Travad Tours described the initiative as a forward-looking development for the industry.
“Eco-tourism is where the world is heading. By embedding tree-planting and conservation experiences into our tours, we offer travelers a deeper and more meaningful interaction with Uganda’s landscapes and its people,” the company noted.
The joint programme will introduce eco-friendly travel packages, interactive conservation activities, environmental education for both tourists and locals, support for schools engaged in restoration, and broader community-based climate action projects. Both partners expressed confidence that the initiative will inspire a new generation of environmentally responsible travelers while advancing Uganda’s climate and biodiversity goals.
The partnership is expected to expand to more schools, tourism destinations and community environments over the coming months, positioning tourism not just as an economic engine—but as a driver of environmental renewal.
