Uganda’s march toward becoming a tenfold economy just gained serious momentum, thanks to Uganda Baati Limited’s groundbreaking innovations in building systems.
At the high-profile Africa Business and Investment Forum—hosted at the trailblazing Inspire Africa Coffee Park in Ntungamo—the steel manufacturing giant showcased how its cutting-edge solutions are reshaping the face of industrial infrastructure across the nation.
Faced with longstanding challenges like high construction costs, unreliable energy supply, and outdated infrastructure, Uganda’s industrial sector has struggled to keep pace with its vast potential. But Uganda Baati is rewriting that narrative—one steel beam, solar panel, and cooling unit at a time.
“We’re not just building structures—we’re building Uganda’s future,” declared Ian Rumanyika, Head of External and Corporate Affairs at Uganda Baati. “Through strategic partnerships with visionaries like Inspire Africa Group, we’ve supplied and installed over 90% of the steel at this revolutionary park. This is what true industrial empowerment looks like.”
At the heart of this transformation are Uganda Baati’s flagship innovations:
SAFBUILD: Modular steel structures that slash construction time by up to 50%—speeding up project delivery without compromising durability or design.
SAFCOOL: Advanced insulation technology that ensures temperature-sensitive industries, from agro-processing to pharmaceuticals, operate with efficiency and stability.
SAFSOLAR: Clean, off-grid solar solutions that empower businesses to break free from Uganda’s unreliable energy grid while embracing green growth.T
he forum—an anchor event of the Africa Coffee Marathon—drew powerful voices from across the continent, including representatives from Equity Group Holdings, the National Planning Authority, Uganda Investment Authority, UNDP, and Uganda’s Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Thomas Tayebwa. The message was clear: Africa’s industrial awakening must be built on innovation, resilience, and value addition.
“Value addition is no longer optional—it’s essential,” emphasized Claver Serumaga, representing the CEO of Equity Group Holdings. “Africa’s renaissance must be forged by Africans who dare to transform raw potential into real, lasting impact.”
Nelson Tugume, CEO of Inspire Africa, credited Uganda Baati with fast-tracking the park’s development and setting a new benchmark for industrial progress. “Uganda Baati didn’t just show up—they delivered,” he said. “Their technology and commitment have laid the very foundation for what is now a thriving hub of innovation and enterprise.”
Throughout the forum, panelists hammered home the need for forward-thinking policies, resilient infrastructure, and locally-driven solutions. Uganda Baati’s efforts emerged as a blueprint for how the private sector can lead the charge.
As Uganda doubles down on industrialization and job creation under NDP IV, Uganda Baati stands ready—not just as a supplier of materials, but as a strategic force powering Uganda’s rise on the global stage.
