Buganda Road Magistrate Court has sentenced Kaboja Junior School teacher to seven years in prison over Sexual Abuse.
Appearing before Magistrate Ronald Kayizi, Muwumuza Godfrey, a teacher at Kaboja Junior School was convicted and sentenced under plea bargain arrangement, on charges of attempted aggravated homosexuality and indecent assault on a male minor aged 11 years.
He was sentenced to 4 years and 6 months’ imprisonment for attempted aggravated homosexuality and 3 years’ imprisonment for indecent assault, to run concurrently.
In determining the sentences, aggravated factors such as the victim’s tender age, abuse of authority by Muhumuza, the vulnerability of the victim, and emotional harm caused were taken into consideration.
Prosecution led by Joan Keko and Ivan Kyazze avvered that in May 2025 n during a trip to and from Western Uganda, Muhumuza Godfrey forced the victim, his student, to touch his genitals.
The discomfort of the victim led him to report the matter to his mother who reported it to the Police.
