Musasizi Yusuf, an employee of Minister of State for Children Balaam Barugahara and a member of his campaign team, has tragically drowned in the River Nile.
According to reports, Musasizi was en route to Adjumani when the incident occurred. He had gone swimming at Sinyanya Landing Site, where he was overwhelmed by the strong Nile currents.
“Last evening, we lost one of our dedicated team members, Musasizi Yusuf, a 24-year-old hardworking casual staff member, who tragically drowned in the River Nile at Sinyanya Landing Site while en route to Adjumani,” Minister Balaam confirmed.
He extended his gratitude to the Uganda Police and the lifesavers from Obongi who responded swiftly and supported efforts to recover the body.
Musasizi will be laid to rest in his ancestral village of Walugogo in Luuka District. His body was handed over to the family on the evening of the incident.
“We shall resume our mobilization on Monday in Amuru, Lamwo, Omoro, and other scheduled areas,” Balaam added.
