Police in Kira Road are investigating a case of aggravated robbery and murder by strangulation, which occurred on the night of 3rd February 2026 in Kwaata Zone, Kyanja Ward, Kawempe Division, Kampala City.
The deceased, identified as 24-year-old businesswoman and social media content creator Namulinde Diana, was living alone in an apartment in Kyanja.
Her body was discovered on 4th February 2026 when friends went to check on her and found her apartment open.
Luke Owoyesigyire, Deputy Public Relations Officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, confirmed that earlier in the day, a security guard from the premises was arrested after being found in possession of stolen items.
Some of the recovered items were later identified as belonging to the deceased.
“A team of homicide detectives and Scene of Crime Officers visited the scene, documented evidence, and recovered several exhibits. Statements from relevant witnesses have also been recorded,” Owoyesigyire stated.
Three suspects have been identified, and two are currently in custody assisting with investigations.
The body of the deceased was transported to KCCA Mulago City Mortuary for a postmortem examination. Investigations are ongoing.
