Singer Vinka delivered a thrilling performance at the Unite for Women Concert on Saturday night, capping an evening dedicated to celebrating women within Rotary International.

The event, held at Ndere Cultural Centre  brought together Rotarians, Rotaractors and guests for a vibrant celebration that blended recognition, entertainment and fellowship in the spirit of International Women’s Day.

Organised by Rotary clubs across Uganda in partnership with V&A Sherry, the concert highlighted the achievements of women in Rotary while also creating space for networking and celebration.

The evening also featured recognition of outstanding Rotarians whose work has made a difference in communities. Awards such as the Young Change Makers Award and the National Champion Leadership Award were presented to individuals making notable contributions across Rotary districts.

Among the award winners was Brownie Ebal of the Rotary Club of Bugolobi, who received the Young Change Makers Award for her education initiative Kitabu Buk, a project that supports schools in Northern Uganda with textbooks.

“I am proud that Rotary recognized my efforts in promoting education in our communities,” she said, noting that she started the project while studying law.

Throughout the night, guests were kept entertained by host Pablo Kimuli, whose energetic style kept the audience engaged. Music from DJ Guanz and the Ivuga Band also had the crowd dancing between award segments.

Guests enjoyed servings of V&A Sherry, both neat and as the cocktail-style Vangria. According to brand manager Rochart Kaweesa, the partnership with Rotary was meant to celebrate women who continue to inspire others.

“V&A Sherry celebrates women who celebrate themselves and each other. Partnering with Rotary allowed us to honour the incredible women making a difference in their communities,” he said.

But it was the arrival of Vinka that truly electrified the crowd. As she stepped onto the stage, fans surged forward, phones raised, ready to capture the moment. Performing crowd favourites including Thank God, Obe Wange, and Malaika, the singer turned the cultural centre into a lively dance floor.

By the end of the night, the Unite for Women Concert had achieved its goal—bringing together members of Rotary and their supporters to celebrate women’s leadership, community impact and the joy of coming together.
