The former head coach of Kampala Capital City Authority FC has gone missing, Daily Star has learned.

The disappearance of Mike Mutebi was confirmed by police earlier today.

“The police at Entebbe Police Station are investigating the disappearance of Mike Mutebi, who went missing on March 7, 2026, from Kisubi Beach,” police said in a statement.

Mutebi had attended a Catholic seminar at the beach and was last seen at about 6:30 p.m. as participants prepared to travel back to Kampala. However, upon arrival in Kawempe, he could not be accounted for.

Mutebi is one of Uganda’s most respected football coaches, widely credited for developing young talent during his time at Kampala Capital City Authority FC. During his tenure, he guided the club to several domestic successes and helped shape many players who later featured for the national team.

He has also previously served in various technical roles in Ugandan football and is known for his strong emphasis on youth development and disciplined tactical play.

Police say investigations into his disappearance are ongoing.
