East African Medical Vitals (EAMV) has pledged 30,000 pairs of surgical gloves to support the Association of Surgeons of Uganda (ASOU) during its 2026 Annual Surgical Camp, in a move aimed at expanding access to safe surgical care across the country.
The commitment was announced by EAMV Managing Director Brian Kavuya during the ASOU Annual Surgical Camp fundraising dinner held at Hotel Africana in Kampala. He said the donation reflects the company’s continued investment in strengthening Uganda’s healthcare system and improving access to quality surgical services.
Kavuya reaffirmed EAMV’s long-standing partnership with Uganda’s surgical fraternity, noting that the collaboration is rooted in a shared goal of delivering safer surgeries and better patient outcomes.
“Our partnership with Uganda’s surgical fraternity is built on a shared purpose of delivering safer surgery and better patient outcomes. As Uganda’s local manufacturer of surgical gloves, we remain committed to providing healthcare professionals with high-quality products that enable them to save lives safely and confidently,” he said.
The latest pledge builds on EAMV’s previous support to ASOU. In 2025, the company donated 2,800 pairs of sterile surgical gloves to the surgical camp. Earlier this year, it also partnered with ASOU during the Annual Surgeons Conference, where it engaged with healthcare professionals and reiterated its commitment to advancing surgical care.
Kavuya commended ASOU for its leadership in organising the annual surgical camp, and recognised the role of sponsors, volunteers and development partners in expanding access to life-saving procedures.
On behalf of ASOU, the association’s president Dr Kakungulu said continued support from partners such as EAMV has enabled the organisation to successfully implement its programmes.
He noted that the upcoming surgical camp, scheduled for September 2026 in the greater Buganda region, will be transformative for thousands of patients and called on the public to support the initiative.
The camp is expected to provide more than 3,500 free surgical procedures to patients, particularly those with limited access to specialised healthcare services.
EAMV’s donation will ensure that surgeons have essential protective equipment required to carry out procedures safely and effectively.
The company said its investment in local manufacturing of medical consumables is aimed at strengthening the resilience, reliability and sustainability of medical supplies in Uganda and the wider East African region.
Through such partnerships, EAMV continues to support healthcare professionals with trusted products while contributing to improved healthcare outcomes for millions of people.
