For Timothy Eniau, popularly known as MUBS Bee, the plan was simple: attend the Coca-Cola-sponsored Makerere Freshers’ Ball, enjoy the music and have a good time.
But the experience turned into something much more rewarding when he emerged among the winners of the Coca-Cola Essawa Yona Kisoboka Content Creation Challenge.
“I came for the vibe, embraced the challenge and walked away with a win,” Eniau said, reflecting on his experience.
His story captures the spirit of Coca-Cola’s campaign, which is creating opportunities for young Ugandans to turn their passions into content and earn rewards from their creativity.
Eniau was among 26 student content creators celebrated at Makerere University’s Impis Rugby Grounds on Saturday, October 31, 2026, during the university’s Freshers’ Ball.
The winners received cash prizes after participating in the month-long challenge, which encouraged university students to create original content around their EPL matchday experiences, meals and Coca-Cola moments.
The event brought together thousands of students and featured performances from Winnie Nwagi, Ykee Benda, Nina Rose and other entertainers.
For Eniau, winning was a reminder that opportunities can emerge when young people are willing to participate and express themselves creatively.
“Essawa Yona Kisoboka is proof that when Coca-Cola says anything is possible, they mean it. Being a winner feels absolutely electric. Big up, Coke!” he said.
Other winners shared similar excitement.
Kalema Benjamin, popularly known as Zoom Media, from Makerere University Business School, said the challenge pushed participants to develop original ideas and distinguish themselves from other creators.
“It’s really fun and exciting because you have to be creative and unique from the rest of your friends,” he said.
Britney Melisa from Kampala International University said she had not expected to win, describing the opportunity as a valuable experience for young creators.
“I am really grateful for the opportunity Coca-Cola gave us as young content creators. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting to be among the winners. I am really happy and hope to work with Coca-Cola in its upcoming campaigns,” she said.
For Nakityo Deborah from Kyambogo University, the challenge provided a platform to learn, grow and showcase her talents.
“Being selected as a winner makes me feel incredibly happy, honoured and motivated to keep pushing my limits,” she said.
The competition is part of Coca-Cola’s Essawa Yona Kisoboka campaign, which celebrates young people doing the things they love and encourages them to share their passions through digital content.
Rather than limiting young people to being audiences of brand campaigns, Coca-Cola is inviting them to become active participants and storytellers.
The campaign provides a platform for students to experiment with content creation, build their creative confidence and compete for cash rewards.
Barry Otieno, Senior Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola in Uganda, congratulated the winners and encouraged them to remain consistent and innovative.
He also urged participants to continue creating content and take advantage of upcoming opportunities to win prizes in November.
The content challenge remains open to eligible Ugandan residents aged 18 and above, with multiple entries permitted during the campaign period.
Participants can create original content showing their EPL matchday, meal and Coca-Cola moments, post on Instagram or TikTok using the official campaign hashtag and tag Coca-Cola Uganda.
Entries are moderated, with winners determined through validated leaderboard rankings to protect the integrity of the competition.
For Eniau and the other winners, the challenge has shown that a simple decision to participate can lead to an unexpected reward.
And as Coca-Cola prepares for the next round of the challenge, young creators have another opportunity to turn their creativity into something more.
