Dangote commits to build mega oil refinery in East Africa
Nigerian billionaire, Aliko Dangote has committed to construct a large scale oil refinery in East Africa modelled on his Nigerian facility. The project will only move forward with strong political and institutional backing as Africa accelerates efforts toward industrial self-sufficiency. Uganda Sets date for Launch of Shs 13.7 trillion Oil Refinery
Uganda’s oil refinery is scheduled to begin operations in the fourth quarter of 2029 or the first quarter of 2030, according to Michael Nkambo Mugerwa, General Manager of Uganda Refinery Holding Company.
