Atleast two people have been killed and nine others injured in a fatal crash involving four vehicles along the Kampala–Hoima Road.

The crash occurred today, September 8, 2026, at about 1:33pm at Nkoowe in Wakiso district.

According to Michael Kananura, the Public Relations Officer of the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, the vehicles involved were a Sino Truck registration number UBK 495F, Toyota Hiace taxi UAT 272J, Subaru Forester UBB 353D and Toyota Wish UBE 918T.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the Sino Truck, which was carrying stones from Kakiri towards Kampala, lost control at Nkoowe and rammed into the three vehicles.

“The truck reportedly crashed into a commuter taxi that had stopped to pick up passengers.The driver and conductor of the taxi died on the spot,” he said.

He said nine passengers travelling in the taxi were injured, including five adults and four juveniles.
