A fire broke out at Entebbe International Airport on May 1, 2025, according to reliable reports from the Daily Star.
The incident was confirmed by Vianney Luggya, Manager of Public Affairs at the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA).
“A minor fire erupted in one of the shops in the waiting lobby area of the passenger terminal building at 1:16 p.m.,” Luggya stated.
The Airport Rescue and Firefighting Services (ARFFS) quickly contained the blaze before it could spread to nearby premises. Normal operations resumed by 2:30 p.m.
“The exact cause of the fire is under investigation. We deeply regret any inconvenience caused,” Luggya added.
