Absa Bank Uganda has unveiled the route map for the 2026 KH3–7 Hills Run, promising a tougher, more rewarding edition of the annual race set for April 26.
The event, which will start and finish at Millennium Grounds in Lugogo, will feature three race categories—5km, 10km and the flagship 25km—taking runners across some of Kampala’s most challenging hills and busy urban corridors.
Absa managing director David Wandera said this year’s run has been elevated both in competition and rewards, positioning it among the region’s standout road races.
“We have designed three routes—5km, 10km and 25km—and significantly raised the stakes. The top two male and female runners who conquer all seven hills will qualify for the Absa Black Star Marathon in Accra, Ghana,” Wandera said.
He added that the overall top male and female finishers will each receive land titles, further boosting the race’s appeal.
While the shorter routes will navigate through Naguru and Ntinda, the 25km race will stretch across key city hills, including Kololo, Nakasero, Namirembe, Mengo and Nsambya, offering a demanding test of endurance and strategy.
Organisers say the course has been carefully curated to blend physical challenge with scenic city views, supported by well-placed hydration points along the routes.
Beyond the race, the event maintains a strong social impact focus. Proceeds will support organisations working to keep girls in school and address barriers to education.
Beneficiaries include Baylor College of Medicine’s DREAMS programme, Amref Health Africa, Windle International Uganda, World Vision Uganda, Nyaka AIDS Orphan Project, Katalemwa Cheshire Home and Smart Girls Uganda.
Organisers say the initiative ensures that every contribution directly supports vulnerable girls, turning the run into both a sporting and social cause.
Registration is now open, with participation packages priced at Shs 35,000 (ordinary), Shs 45,000 (timed), and Shs 150,000 (VIP).
