The Makindye Chief Magistrate’s Court has remanded Christopher Okello Onyum to Luzira Prison following his arrest last week.
Appearing before before Her Worship Nanjala Aidah, Okello was leveled with four charges.
Prosecution alleges that Christopher Okello Onyum, on April 2, 2026, at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Center, Ggaba Trading Zone in Makindye Division, with malice aforethought, unlawfully caused the death of Eteku Gideon, Keisha Agenorwoth Otim, Sseruyange Ignitius, and Odeke Ryan.
He was remanded in prison until tomorrow, April 8, 2026, when the case will be mentioned.
The 34-year-old is accused of fatally stabbing four children at Ggaba Early Childhood Development Programme School in Makindye Division, Kampala.
Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Racheal Kawala, confirmed the incident, describing it as a brutal attack targeting young children.
“We confirm a tragic incident in which a male suspect stabbed and killed four juveniles at the school,” Kawala said.
Preliminary findings indicate that the suspect had earlier visited the facility seeking admission for his child and was advised to return later. He subsequently came back, paid the required fees, and shortly afterwards attacked the children, killing four of them instantly.
The victims have been identified as Ryan Odeke (1½ years), Gideon Eteko (2½ years), Keisha Elungat (2), and Ignatius Sseruyange (2).
Police said 10 other children who were in the same class at the time were safely reunited with their parents.
