A producer attached to NBS TV and Sanyuka TV has died in a road crash along the Entebbe Road, Daily Star has learnt.

The deceased, identified as Badru Kasirye, was travelling with Brian Makona, who survived the crash and is currently admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kisubi Hospital.

The crash was confirmed by Kananura Michael, the spokesperson of Traffic.

“Police confirm a fatal road traffic crash that claimed the lives of Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye, both employees of Next Media, and left Brian Makona injured,”

The crash occurred today, 7 August 2026, at about 2:00 a.m., at Namulanda, near Stabex along Entebbe Road. It involved motor vehicles UA 779DE, Toyota Allex, and UAS 976W, Toyota Hilux.

Kananura said preliminary investigations indicate that the driver of the Toyota Hilux, registration number UAS 976W, which was travelling from Entebbe towards Kampala, allegedly lost control and drifted into the opposite lane while approaching the Stabex area at Namulanda. The vehicle subsequently collided head-on with the oncoming Toyota Allex, registration number UA 779DE.

As a result of the collision, Badru Kasirye and Isaac Ndamagye died at the scene, while Brian Makona sustained injuries and admitted in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Kisubi Hospital.

“The exact circumstances and cause of the crash remain under investigation. Further details will be communicated as soon as the inquiries are concluded,” he said.
