Pride Bank Limited has gained international recognition after clinching the Most Innovative Insurance Product – Pride Care Uganda 2026 award at the Global Banking & Finance Awards 2026, marking a major milestone for the Ugandan financial institution on the global stage.
The award highlights the bank’s growing reputation for innovation and its focus on delivering practical financial solutions that respond to the changing needs of customers, especially those in underserved communities.
The winning product, Pride Care also known as Malayo ne Pride, is an insurance solution designed to make protection more affordable, accessible, and relevant to everyday Ugandans.
It targets individuals and families facing common financial risks, offering a simplified insurance model that strengthens resilience while promoting financial security at household level.
Through Malayo ne Pride, Pride Bank has redefined insurance by making it more relatable and easier to access, allowing customers to benefit simply by maintaining a minimum balance of Shs 100,000.
The innovation has also been recognized locally. At the Insurance Innovation Awards 2025 held on 27 March 2025, Pride Bank’s partner, Padre Pio Insurance Brokers, was named Most Innovative Insurance Broker for the same product.
This dual recognition underscores the strength of collaboration in developing solutions that are not only innovative but also impactful and scalable.
Pride Bank said the product is part of its broader strategy to deepen financial inclusion by integrating insurance into its everyday banking services.
The bank emphasized that this approach moves beyond traditional banking to offer holistic financial solutions that address real-life needs and risks.
The Global Banking & Finance Review Awards celebrate institutions that are transforming the financial sector through innovation, technology, and customer focused solutions.
The recognition places Uganda’s financial innovation ecosystem in the international spotlight, showcasing how locally developed solutions can address real community challenges in sustainable ways.
