Victoria University has appointed Ms. Meera Ruparelia as the new Representative of the Directors on its University Council, signalling a new chapter in the institution’s leadership following the death of Director Rajiv Ruparelia.
The move comes at a pivotal moment for the university, as it seeks to maintain momentum in its growth while preserving the vision that shaped its recent transformation.
University management described Meera’s appointment not just as a routine leadership change, but as a continuation of a legacy built on innovation, resilience, and a strong focus on practical, industry-driven education.
In a statement, the institution paid tribute to the late Rajiv Ruparelia, crediting him with playing a central role in redefining the university’s direction and positioning it as a hub for experiential learning.
“Even as we honour Rajiv’s immense contribution to higher education in Uganda, Meera’s appointment reflects our resolve to sustain and build upon the values he stood for,” the statement read.
Her entry into the council is expected to reinforce continuity in leadership while also bringing fresh perspective to the university’s governance at a time when institutions are increasingly adapting to evolving education and industry demands.
